Honey Glazed Scones
Ingredients
FOR SCONES
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 8 tbsp butter
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
FOR GLAZE
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Preheat oven to 425°F
- Mix flour, salt, and baking powder into a large bowl and mix well.
- Cut butter into large chunks and slowly add into the mixture with a pastry blender, or by hand until it resembles fine crumbs.
- Add sugar and mix well.
- Slowly add milk while stirring with a wooden spoon until it forms a crumbly ball of dough.
- Move dough to a floured surface and knead until it becomes a tight ball of dough.
- Flatten the dough ball until it’s about 1 1/2″ thick.
- Using a pastry knife or side of a spatula, cut the flattened dough into 8-10 wedges (more if smaller wedges), then dust each with cinnamon.
- Place wedges onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 1/4 inch apart.
- Bake 12-15 minutes, or until fairly brown on the edges.
- While baking, prepare the honey glaze.
- Mix honey, butter, and brown sugar into a small skillet. Bring to a low simmer and stir regularly.
- Allow scones to cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
