Honey Glazed Scones

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 tbsp butter
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder into a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Cut butter into large chunks and slowly add into the mixture with a pastry blender, or by hand until it resembles fine crumbs.
  4. Add sugar and mix well.
  5. Slowly add milk while stirring with a wooden spoon until it forms a crumbly ball of dough.
  6. Move dough to a floured surface and knead until it becomes a tight ball of dough.
  7. Flatten the dough ball until it’s about 1 1/2″ thick.
  8. Using a pastry knife or side of a spatula, cut the flattened dough into 8-10 wedges (more if smaller wedges), then dust each with cinnamon.
  9. Place wedges onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 1/4 inch apart.
  10. Bake 12-15 minutes, or until fairly brown on the edges.
  11. While baking, prepare the honey glaze.
  12. Mix honey, butter, and brown sugar into a small skillet. Bring to a low simmer and stir regularly.
  13. Allow scones to cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
