Hot Buttered Rum

  • 1 cup softened butter or margarine
  • 1 heaping cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp rum (for each serving)
  • 1/8 tsp cloves
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • Boiling water
  1. Combine butter and brown sugar in a bowl and mix well until light and fluffy.
  2. Slowly add whipping cream and powdered sugar on a low speed until smooth then add cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
  3. For each serving combine 2 tablespoons batter mixture with 1/2 cup boiling water and garnish with a dash of nutmeg.
  4. Any remaining mixture can be frozen and stored for up to 3 months.
