Pizza Dough

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  1. Combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Mix slowly with a wooden spoon while adding olive oil and warm water.
  3. While mixing, add the other cup of flour. Dough should form a consistently elastic dough and shouldn’t stick to the sides of the bowl. Add a bit more flour if needed.
  4. Drizzle the sides of a large bowl with olive oil.
  5. Lightly dust the dough ball with flour and place into oiled bowl. Make sure to roll ball inside slightly so it has a thin coat of oil.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in a warm place for 30 minutes
  7. Heat oven to 425°.
  8. Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead briefly.
  9. Work the dough into a 12″ round, or two 6″ rounds.
  10. Fold in edges just slightly to create a crust, pierce with a fork to keep inflating minimal, then add any toppings you desire.
  11. Bake at 425° for 12-15 minutes and serve warm.
