Sopapilla
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp fat
- 1 1/2 cups very warm water
- Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl, mix well, then cut in the fat with a pasty knife or fork.
- Slowly add water until it forms a firm, dryer dough.
- knead well then let stand for 30 minutes.
- Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness then cut into 3″ squares.
- Fry in a pan of deep, hot fat and serve immediately.
Garnish with honey and powdered/confectioners sugar.
