Thoughts on “Estimated Cost”

I recently added a new Category for estimated costs to make each recipe. 5-10 USD, 20-30 USD, over 50 USD, and so forth.

There were a lot of assumptions when I created this new search option, including:

  • None of the items were already in your kitchen
  • Nothing was on sale
  • Everything was made from scratch

Saffron is not cheap and I don’t expect it to change any time soon. Other, more common items don’t seem to change much over the years, but I’m certain they will over the long term. For now, I don’t expect to adjust for inflation. It seems a bit unnecessary but who’s to say.
