Piadillo

Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 2 jalapenos, chopped and seeded
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup almond slivers
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 4 ounces pimentos
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  1. Cover meat with water and bring to a boil for 30 minutes until cooked.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and cook mixture over low heat for at least an hour.
  3. Serve warm in a ceramic dish. Pairs well with tortilla chips or mixed with rice.
